IGN - The Characters of GTA IV

IGN have posted a new article titled "The Characters of Grand Theft Auto IV". It includes 5 character profiles, for Roman Bellic, Vlad, Elizabeta, Manny, and Brucie, who were all seen in the latest trailer for the game. There's also 5 new screenshots included in the article, which will be added to our database as soon as we receive them from Rockstar. We'll also shortly be updating a number of our GTAIV pages based on the new information from recent previews and the third trailer.

GTA IV Rated in Australia

Grand Theft Auto IV has now received it's first rating, the OFLC in Australia gave it an MA 15+, similar to the majority of GTA games. This because it contains "Strong violence, Strong coarse language, Drug and sexual references" which is fairly obvious.Past GTA games have received their ratings roughly a couple of months before they're actually released, and so we could assume that the game is finished, at least to some degree. Take Two will be reporting their fourth quarter and fiscal 2007 results on Tuesday, so we may hear a final release date from the company then. We'll also be expecting ratings to be coming in from the UK, US and Germany very soon.

TGTAP Mentioned in OPM as one of the leading fan sites for GTAIV Info

I just got the new Official PlayStation Magazine for the month of January 2008, and noticed that on page 55 there’s an article on GTA IV that lists TheGTAPlace.com as one of the leading places for new GTA IV info! This is great news for such a great site that I'm proud to call home.I added a poor picture of the article from my RAZR cell phone camera seeing as I don't have a scanner at the moment, I just think that it’s just so cool that we were listed and recognized as a leading site for news on such an amazing game, and that we have even better GTA info than even OPM itself! After seeing a company like Sony admitting to something like that, I just had to post something to point it out! I also added the picture just so you could all see if for yourselves.

Take2 Can’t Pin Down GTA IV Release Date Yet

After almost a month since the game was originally set to be released, Take2 still can’t pinpoint a release date for Grand Theft Auto IV. Strauss Zelnick, chairman of Take2, refuses to give us a release date until they’re “utterly convinced” that they can commit to said date (unlike last time). Zelnick went on to say, “It’s a fair question given that we weren’t able to stick to our firm date the last time. We’re going to give a firm date when we are utterly convinced that we have it and that isn’t right now,” at a BMO Capital Markets conference yesterday.

New Dummy GTA IV Box Art

Rockstar have recently shipped new 'dummy' (read: not final) box arts to various retailers. The new boxes show the GTA IV logo over artwork, one of which we haven't actually seen before. This is the first bit of marketing we've seen from Rockstar for about 3 months, at least on the GTA front, so hopefully it's a sign that things are starting to pick up again now. So stay tuned as we'll bring you news of any further information or new media released. Below are some pictures of the boxes, and just to reiterate, these are official, but they aren't final. For those of you wondering when we'll see the final box art, going by previous reveals, we generally see it approximately 3 months before the release of the game itself. Now we don't have an official release date yet, but we'd guess around as early as December or as late as February.
